When you or someone in your family isn’t feeling well, you want care quickly. With MyBSWHealth, you can access virtual urgent care providers 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
MyBSWHealth connects you to Baylor Scott & White Virtual Urgent Care providers who can see patients in Texas aged 2 or older. You have the option of communicating with our providers using face-to-face virtual visits (using a camera on your smartphone, tablet or computer) or questionnaire-based eVisits, both available anytime, day or night.
What can be treated during an online urgent care visit?
You can receive care for many conditions through virtual urgent care, including:
- Allergies
- Eye, ear and mouth pain
- Head lice and tick bites
- Lower back pain
- Minor headache
- Respiratory infections, such as colds, COVID-19 and the flu
- Skin and nail concerns
- Sprains and strains
- Stomach concerns
- Common adult female problems, including urinary tract infections, yeast infections and mastitis
Please keep in mind that some conditions, such as headaches, lower back pain, and sprains and strains, cannot be treated during an eVisit and may require a video visit or in-person care .
Additional services available through online urgent care
You can also use virtual urgent care video visits and eVisits for prescription medications and refills, such as:
- Asthma inhalers
- EpiPens

When to go to the emergency room instead
Telehealth urgent care options are not appropriate for emergencies. Call 911 if you are experiencing a medical emergency, such as an overdose, a stroke or symptoms that require immediate attention, including chest pain, seizures and difficulty breathing.
How to schedule a virtual urgent care visit
Video visits
When you schedule your virtual urgent care video visit, MyBSWHealth will present the next available appointment times, allowing you to select a time that best meets your needs. During your video visit, you will meet with a 24/7 care provider, who will ask you about your symptoms and provide a treatment plan. Virtual urgent care video visits cannot provide referrals, lab tests or X-rays.
Here’s how to schedule:
- Click the link below, or download the MyBSWHealth app if you haven’t already, and create an account or sign in with your existing account. You can also log in via a web browser on your computer.
- Under Schedule & Search, select Schedule Now. Then, select Video Visit and tap the 24/7 Care tab to find an available Baylor Scott & White 24/7 provider.
- Before your appointment, complete eCheck-In using MyBSWHealth. Once finished, the Launch Visit button will appear under your Appointments on your MyBSWHealth home screen up to five minutes before your scheduled appointment.
eVisit
You will complete a short, five-minute questionnaire about your symptoms. In less than an hour, a Baylor Scott & White provider will review your responses and provide a treatment plan. eVisits cannot provide referrals, lab tests or X-rays.

- Under Schedule & Search, select Schedule Now, and then select eVisit.
- Follow the prompts to complete the screening questionnaire.
- Plan to spend about five to 10 minutes completing the questionnaire.
- Anticipate a provider response within one hour. Depending on your MyBSWHealth notification settings, you will receive an email and/or text notifying you when your plan is ready.
- Review your treatment plan and select a pharmacy to fill any prescriptions if necessary.

Here are some tips to ensure a successful video visit:
- Make sure your device is plugged in or fully charged before your visit.
- Use the MyBSWHealth app or Google Chrome on your computer or tablet for the best experience.
- Make sure you have a reliable Wi-Fi connection.
- Have headphones available if you need privacy or audio assistance.
- Choose a private, well-lit space where you’re less likely to be interrupted.
- Be in a stationary location rather than walking around or driving in a car.
- If prompted, allow your camera and microphone to access the app.
- If the appointment is for a minor, parental or guardian presence is required for the visit.
Having trouble?
- If you’re having trouble accessing virtual urgent care, ensure you have a strong Wi-Fi or cell signal.
- Try restarting your device or using a different device (smartphone, computer, etc.).
- For video visits, make sure you have completed the eCheck-In, as this is required for the Launch button to appear.

Who can be seen with a virtual urgent care visit?
Anyone 2 years and older who is in Texas and meets the qualifications for conditions treated can schedule a virtual urgent care visit.

How much is a virtual urgent care visit?
Your virtual urgent care video visit will be billed as a standard visit to your insurance, so the cost will depend on your coverage. There is no increase in price for evening or weekend visits. eVisits are $40, paid at the time of service if not covered by your insurance.

Does insurance cover virtual urgent care visits?
Your virtual visit may be covered by insurance. It’s best to check with your insurance provider to confirm coverage.

Can I be out of the state of Texas to receive virtual care?
No, you can only use virtual urgent care if you are in Texas.

What if I need follow-up care?
If your provider thinks you need follow-up care, they will let you know. Depending on your health issue, your provider may recommend scheduling an in-person visit instead of a virtual visit. In those cases, when care is not provided, you will not be charged for your virtual visit.

Can I get a prescription if needed?
Yes, you can get a prescription if needed. During a video visit, if your provider feels you need a prescription, they will send it to the pharmacy of your choice.
For an eVisit, if your treatment plan includes a prescription, the prescriptions are not sent automatically to allow you to review your treatment plan first. You will need to click to choose a pharmacy and send your prescription.

Can I cancel or reschedule my virtual urgent care appointment?
Yes, you can cancel or reschedule your appointment if you are unable to make your original time. If you can no longer make an appointment, we ask that you cancel the appointment with as much notice as possible.

Do you have interpreter services?
Interpreter services are available for virtual urgent care video visits. However, we do not currently offer eVisit questionnaires in languages other than English.
