Dr. Klein has been a constant source of encouragement and support in my healing and growth as an individual. However, more largely he has impacted my perspective surrounding the negative culture of Baylor Scott and White. I've encountered racism consistently in my care during ER visits and hospitalizations. Dr. Klein has consistently provided care to counter the well known narrative of BSWH within the Black community. Provider such as Dr. Klein are the reason persons of color can feel they can continue to seek care they need. He establishes a professional working relationship that has both depth and distance with his patients. He does this through trust, empathy, and advocacy - all of which are often left out of the patient care experience outside of the Santa Fe clinic. Whatever efforts that can be employed to retaining and recruiting providers of his caliber should be done as soon as possible. Furthermore, give that man a raise!
