EpicCare Link securely connects referring practitioners and staff to select patient information in the Baylor Scott & White Health Epic electronic health record
With EpicCare Link, referring practitioners and staff can:
- Have secure access to their patients’ medical records
- Receive results and notifications, and securely send HIPAA-compliant messages to Baylor Scott & White practitioners.
- Make referrals and upload documents to a patient’s Epic chart.
- Order imaging tests and receive secure access to radiologists’ results assessments.
- Review clinical documentation to verify patient billing is accurate and supported, a feature that can also be utilized for coding and charge reconciliation.
CyberArk® is replacing SecureAuth for authentication. You MUST complete these steps or there may be disruption and some delay in accessing EpicCare Link.
- Step 1: Go to CyberArk.BSWHealth.org to register on a computer. This guide provides the steps to register. Do not close your browser and move to step 2.
- Step 2: Follow these linked instructions to add the CyberArk® Identity app to your mobile device using customized QR codes. Note: During the process, you will scan the device QR code twice and the OTP QR code once. This will connect you to your BSW CyberArk® Identity app account, which displays a landing page when opened.
- To add the CyberArk Desktop Authenticator to your workstation to generate time-based one-time passcodes, use this guide to walk you through downloading the file package and installing it on your workstation.
Post-acute entities that interact with Baylor Scott & White discharging facilities can apply for a customized EpicCare Link access that allows them to accept and deliver secure communications electronically.
With EpicCare Link, nurses, managers, and physicians at post-acute facilities can:
- Electronically accept discharge placement requests sent from Baylor Scott & White case management
- Access patients’ medical records at Baylor Scott & White, which can improve the quality of care for the patient
- Securely send HIPAA compliant messages to Baylor Scott & White case managers
- Upload documents, after HIM approval, to the patient’s BSWH medical record
EpicCare Link for post-acute facilities
How to request access
New site/practice request for access
- For medical practices and post-acute facilities, the authorizing physician/authorizing director must complete the New Site Authorization form to submit with a request
- Use the online EpicCare Link access request form to submit a request for a new site/practice
- Please use Internet Explorer 11 (or later) when filling out the online request form
- The online access request form must be submitted by the designated site administrator identified on the form
Adding new users to existing site/practice
New user requests for an existing site/practice must be submitted by the site administrator.
- Log into EpicCare Link
- Go to the Manage My Clinic tab, select Requests > Request New Account
