James C. Sterling, MD, has been practicing sports medicine and treating concussions since 1987. He also practices physical medicine and rehabilitation (PMR), which focuses on the management of disorders that alter function and performance.
Board-certified in sports medicine, concussion and conservative spine specialist, Dr. Sterling uses a holistic approach to alleviate musculoskeletal problems and return patients to daily routines and recreational activities.

A sports enthusiast and avid fan of all sports, Dr. Sterling was the Head Physician for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy, charged with overseeing medical personnel and athletic trainers who supported the U.S. Olympic athletes.
Previously, Dr. Sterling was the Head Physician for the 2000 U.S. Paralympic Team in Sydney, Australia, as well as a physician for the 1998 U.S. Winter Olympic Team in Japan and 1996 Paralympic team in Atlanta, GA.
In addition, Dr. Sterling serves on the Concussion Oversight Team for many area school districts. Each concussion oversight team establishes a return-to-play protocol based on peer-reviewed scientific evidence for a student's return to interscholastic athletics practice or competition following the force or impact believed to have caused a concussion.
Dr. Sterling’s philosophy is to provide compassionate and kind care that focuses not only on the relief of pain and suffering but helps patients return to activities that give them quality of life.

Sports concussion program
This program incorporates a multidisciplinary approach to concussion treatment with physicians, neuropsychologists, physical therapists and certified athletic trainers all working under one roof to provide comprehensive care to athletes ages 5 and older.

Pay by mail
To ensure that your payment is correctly applied to your account, detach the slip from your Baylor Scott & White billing statement and return the slip with your payment. If paying by check or money order, include your account number on the check or money order.
Please mail the payment to the address listed on your statement.

Payments to HTPN can be made over the phone with our automated phone payment system 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All payments made via the automated phone payment system will post the next business day. Please call 1.866.377.1650.
If you need to speak to someone about a bill from a Baylor Scott & White Hospital, our Customer Service department is available to take payments over the phone from Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM and can be reached at 1.800.994.0371.
