Our medical weight loss program focuses on nutrition, physical activity and long-term lifestyle improvements
Not everyone is a candidate for bariatric surgery. At Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Grapevine, we provide our weight loss patients with comprehensive obesity treatment.
Our medical weight loss program focuses on helping our patients form long-term lifestyle changes through proper nutrition and physical activity.
You can quickly determine whether you are overweight, obese or within a healthy range by checking your BMI (body mass index) with the calculator below.
Medical weight loss services
We use a variety of medical approaches and medications to help you safely lose weight.
We offer nutritional supplements and FDA-approved anti-obesity medication, which commercial weight loss programs cannot do, prescribed by our obesity medicine specialist that oversees your weight loss progress.
An added benefit of working with a weight loss program like ours here in Grapevine is that you may be covered by your insurance. Most major insurances cover non-surgical treatment of obesity.
Comprehensive assessments
All our patients are seen by an obesity medicine specialist followed by a registered and licensed dietitian. Through shared decision-making with the patient, a comprehensive weight loss plan is determined.
Segmental body composition
This is a special scale that uses the very latest multi-frequency technology to record a comprehensive range of measurements in just 20 seconds—from segmental fat and muscle mass to basal metabolic rate, visceral fat levels and intra/extra cellular body water.
FDA-approved anti-obesity medications
Because our program is supervised by an obesity medicine specialist, we can prescribe medications that, when used with lifestyle changes for patient with a BMI of 27 or greater, can help increase your ability to lose and maintain your weight.
