All the decisions are informed by data and research, but she admits to the patient the limits of human knowledge and her knowledge, too, esp. In the field of lipidology. I liked how she was well prepared for the meeting, knowing my chart well and combining the other information beyond her sliver of expertise. While seeing what other doctors have done, once again, her recommendations began from the basic numbers and studies, and she came to an indepent solution, which may or may not align with other doctors. This gives me much confidence. The whole meeting was informative and even inspirational about her field and its potential. And, I learned a few things outside that, which will or may be useful in the future to me. By the end, I think we struck upon the best course of action at this point for me, the patient. | |
