Biography

Dr. Karina Reyner is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. She graduated from Princeton University in 2007 where she completed a BS in Molecular Biology and received ... her medical degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL in 2012. She completed her emergency medicine residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC where she served as Chief Resident in her final year. She joined the emergency department staff at BUMC in 2015 after graduation and currently serves as the assistant director for education and postgraduate training at BUMC as well as the clerkship director for the Texas A&M emergency medicine rotation. She was awarded the emergency department physician of the year in 2016 and 2018 and Texas A&M outstanding faculty in emergency medicine in 2017 and 2019. Her academic interests include medical student and resident education and neurologic emergencies, particularly stroke and TIA. She is the emergency medicine physician lead for the BS&W Code Stroke Program and holds active roles on the Peer Review Committee and Stroke Steering Committee. She is originally from Miami, Florida and is one of five girls. She enjoys spending time with her husband Thomas and their three young children, TP, Isla, and Mia.
