Baylor University Medical Center offers a 30-bed dedicated antepartum unit and a high-risk labor and delivery unit in Dallas. Both are equipped with advanced technology and an entire team focused on the long-term care of both mom and fetus.

Neonatal ICU transport services

Baylor University Medical Center has a dedicated Neonatal Transport Team that works in an 83-bed neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in Dallas. Each transport team is staffed by advanced skilled nurses and respiratory therapists with expertise in neonatal care.

Dallas NICU services include:

  • Total body cooling for infants who have suffered a hypoxic ischemic event
  • Bubble CPAP, intubation and ventilator therapy, surfactant administration, umbilical line placement, needle thoracotomy, X-ray interpretation and full code situations
  • Attendance at high-risk deliveries for patients who cannot be transported
  • NicViewâ„¢ secure online portal for parents to view baby from anywhere

We are committed to education and offer several classes for labor and delivery, postpartum, antepartum and NICU staff.

Our passionate transport team members teach STABLE, NRP, obstetric hemorrhage, malignant hyperthermia, all levels of fetal monitoring, neonatal emergency skills and much more. Simulation opportunities are also available.
